State Specific Risk Management Requirements
ELM programs are widely adaptable and can be applied to state mandated training requirements. The courses help healthcare providers across the country to earn state required risk management CME. ELM has developed programs specifically for organizations in the following states; NY, TX, PA, FL and CT.
In New York, the ELM program is currently being used by several insurance and hospital systems to demonstration compliance with the risk management education component of MMIP (Medical Malpractice Insurance Pool). Healthcare providers in Texas use the ELM program to obtain the necessary ethics/professional responsibility CME requirements. ELM programs help the healthcare providers earn the required 12 hours of risk management CME in Pennsylvania. In Florida, providers apply the ELM courses towards prevention of medical errors and risk management CME requirements. And finally, in Connecticut providers use the ELM courses to satisfy the domestic violence, sexual assault and abuse, HIV/ID and risk management CME requirement.
New York - MMIP (regulation 124)
ELM has been providing educational programs for many organizations requiring a solution for MMIP and excess layer discounts. The ELM programs can be implemented in a couple of days or even hours and provide the physicians with certificates stating completion of a risk management education program in compliance with NYS DOI Section 18, Regulation 124. The back-end reporting systems make the administrator’s job far easier as well, in that records can be matched and compliance with the educational program can be tracked. ELM’s program takes all of the work out of risk management education for “reg 124.”
