Nursing
In today’s increasingly fast-paced health care environment, the demands made on nurses are constant and complex. To provide patient care safely, critical skills are necessary to ensure team work and communication result in safe outcomes of care. When these interactions are not working well, nurses also need the knowledge and skills to engage those in their chain of command. To ensure errors in care do not occur as a result of provider lack of attention or response, nurses have the responsibility to advocate for their patients, using the organizational resources available to them.
More and more, nurses are at risk of being personally named in professional liability actions. To assist in avoiding those claims, ELM courses can educate your nurses and help them understand how their delivery of patient care is examined retrospectively, and how their verbal and written communications with patients, providers and organizational leaders can support their actions, protecting themselves, their patients, and their organization.
